Michael Miller died this afternoon at his home, 413 Bowman Street. Although in failing health for several months, his last illness was of only a week's duration. Mr. Miller was a native of Baden, Germany, where he was born Oct. 13, 1821. His parents came to this country and settled in Maryland when he was five years old. Mr. Miller has lived in this city over fifty years. He was a cabinet and coffin maker and afterwards a carpenter. He was an industrious man, honored by all who knew him. For many years he was a member of Mansfield Lodge, No. 35, F. and A.M., and his faith in that fraternity was exemplified in the last hour of his life, for after he was unable to speak he gave his son the grip of a Mason. The Masonic Lodge will have charge of the funeral services, which will be held at the residence Thursday at 3 o'clock p.m.
Mrs. Miller survives her husband and the three surviving children are John H. Miller, the attorney, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah, who reside at home.
